SEVEN SOULS WON AT BUBIASHIE CIRCUIT REVIVAL

Story: Sarah Naa Merley Mensah, Bubiashie

Seven souls were won at the just ended Wesleyan Revival Outreach programme organised by the Accra Diocese in the Bubiashie Circuit of The Methodist Church Ghana.

The Revival Outreach which took place from July 14 – 17, 2022 at the Bubiashie Kotopon Square, saw five men and two women give their lives to God.

This was the result of three nights of consistent Word, song and prayer ministrations which had the Very Rev Richmond Abaka, a Circuit Minister in the Dansoman Circuit as the main speaker.

Speaking at the Revival Outreach, Very Rev Abaka appealed to residents of the community to surrender their lives to Jesus for salvation, noting "a secured and safe life is found only in God”.  He urged them to give their lives to Jesus and have their names written in the "Book of Life".

Very Rev Abaka urged residents to hold on fast to the Maker. He observed that "life without Jesus is worthless”, adding “If you miss heaven, hell is sure”.

Climaxing the Revival Outreach with a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, July 17, 2022, the Methodist Bishop of Accra, the Rt Rev Emmanuel Borlabi Bortey disclosed that the initiative was in line with the Church’s Agenda for Revival Growth as expressed in its new Strategic Plan.

He reminded the congregation that they had been called to bring others to the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus, adding “we have a responsibility to evangelise everywhere we are”.

Bishop Borlabi Bortey articulated that the Church was not merely interested in numerical growth but in changed attitudes.

Speaking on the theme “Who is a Christian”, the Methodist Cleric said a Christian is person who believes that Jesus Christ is the only source of salvation and has thus paced his trust in him [Jesus]. He added that through Jesus, the Christian is justified, redeemed and reconciled with God.

The Superintendent Minister of the Bubiashie Circuit, the Very Rev Trudy Wright led congregants in prayers for the Bubiashie community.

A special appeal for funds was done to support the Diocese’s evangelism efforts.
