I’M INDEED GRATEFUL TO GOD – SIS AGATHA ENNIN OSEI AS SHE BOWS OUT AS LAY CHAIRMAN

The out-going Lay Chairman of the Accra Diocese, Sis Agatha Nana Ama Ennin Osei has expressed profound gratitude to God and the Church as she brings her three-year tenure of office to an end.

Joined by her family and other well-wishers at a Thanksgiving Service organised in her honour at the Rev Joseph Thomas Clegg Memorial Methodist Chapel, Kaneshie, on September 25, 2022, Madam Ennin Osei was thankful to past and present hierarchy of the Church at the Connexional, Diocesan, Circuit and Society levels for their diverse contributions to her work throughout her tenure of office.

“I’m indeed grateful to God and I said this three years ago. In His own time, He made this happen”, Madam Ennin Osei remarked, adding, “In His own time, the Synod nominated me and to the glory of God Conference confirmed a three-year mandate for me to serve the people of God as the Lay Chairman of this Diocese”.

While thanking the various Diocesan Organisations and Circuit Lay Movement Councils for supporting her work and that of the Lay in general over the period, Madam Ennin Osei encouraged them to extend similar support to her successor, Bro Joseph Eduam who takes office from October 01, 2022.

Madam Ennin Osei was elected at the 58th Annual Synod of the Accra Diocese held at the Wesley Cathedral, Accra in May 2019 and took office as the 7th Lay Chairman of the Diocese in October 2019.

Her period of office saw her contribute immensely towards the growth of the Diocese including successfully overseeing the hosting of the 2020 Methodist Conference in Accra, organisation of Synods amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, shepherding the Diocesan Organisations to victory in various competitions among others.

Presenting a citation to the out-going Lay Chairman on behalf of the Accra Diocese, the Methodist Bishop of Accra, the Rt Rev Emmanuel Borlabi Bortey expressed the Diocese’s appreciation in “acknowledgement of your contribution to the work in the Diocese”.

The Administrative Bishop of The Methodist Church Ghana, the Rt Rev Michael Agyakwa Bossman led a prayer session for Madam Ennin Osei and her family.
