Christians have been challenged to live a life of integrity
that will cause Ghana to experience social transformation.
The call was made by the Methodist Bishop of Accra,
the Rt Rev Emmanuel Borlabi Bortey at a Church Service on Sunday, February 20, 2022
to climax a 3-day Wesleyan Revival Outreach programme organised by the Accra Diocese
of The Methodist Church Ghana at the Ako Adjei Park, Osu from February 17-19, 2022.
The Rt Rev Borlabi Bortey advised the congregants, who
were mostly made up of members of the Rev Peter Kwei Dagadu Memorial Society and
the Kuku Hill Society, all in the Osu Circuit of the Church, to be different in
their approach to work, noting, “If everybody is seen to be coming to work
late, you must be different. If everybody is asking for a tip before they go
and pick the file, you must be different”.
He further admonished Christians to be honest and incorruptible.
“What is said of the people of the world must not be said of us – sexual
impropriety, immorality, drunkenness, the thirst for money and riches – those
are the patterns of this world. We are called to make a difference”, he added.
Bishop Borlabi Bortey posited that Christians are
called to live by God’s standards, adding to live by God’s standards, “Your
mind must be renewed. Let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of
your mind. Let God transform you into a new person”.
The second in the series, the Wesleyan Revival Outreach
is an initiative by the Accra Diocese to engineer revival and growth in all the
24 Circuits within the Diocese.
The 3-day Revival at the Osu Circuit which was on the
theme, ‘Discipleship: Living the Transformed Life in Jesus Christ’, had the Very
Rev Dr Samuel Nii Nmai Ollenu, the Chaplain of the Methodist University College
Ghana as the main speaker.
The Evangelism, Mission and Renewal (EMR) Coordinator
of the Accra Diocese, the Very Rev Emmanuel W. Otoo led congregants in intercessory
prayers for the nation.
