COME BACK HOME – EVANGELIST ROBERT MENSAH

Story: Emmanuel Ashong, Kaneshie

A Lay Evangelist of The Methodist Church Ghana, Evangelist Robert Mensah has made a passionate appeal to sinners to come back to Jesus Christ.

“God is looking for you. I don’t know where you have reached at the moment. I don’t know the company you find yourself in now. There is good news for you. Come back home. God has prepared good things for you”, Evangelist Mensah echoed.

He was speaking at a three-day Wesleyan Revival Outreach organised by the Accra Diocese of The Methodist Church Ghana at the Rev Joseph Thomas Clegg Memorial Methodist Church Park at Kaneshie.

Spearheaded by the Evangelism, Mission and Renewal Office of the Accra Diocese, the Wesleyan Revival Outreach is geared towards spreading the Word of God and reaching out to non-believers in all the 24 Circuits within the Diocese.

Drawing lessons from the Bible Parable on the Prodigal Son, Evangelist Mensah noted that Jesus was ready to take back anyone who returns to Him. He added that those who come to Jesus become children of God and receive the peace of God.

The Rev Edward Niikwei Okine, the Accra Diocesan Youth Organiser, prayed for persons who gave their lives to the Lord.

The fifteenth edition of the Revival Outreach had the Methodist Bishop of Accra Diocese, the Rt Rev Emmanuel Borlabi Bortey in attendance.

The programme was climaxed with a Thanksgiving Service held at the Rev Joseph Thomas Clegg Memorial Methodist Chapel, Kaneshie on October 23, 2022.

Highlighting briefly on the theme for the Revival Outreach, "Discipleship: Living the Transformed Life in Jesus Christ ", the Accra Diocesan Coordinator for Evangelism, Mission and Renewal, the Very Rev Richmond Abaka said evangelism is a serious business of the Church and ought to be given all the attention it deserves.

He stressed on the need for soul winning and challenged members of the Church to "go there, compel them to come. Go and compel them to come".

Funds were raised to support evangelism activities in the Diocese.
