ACCRA DIOCESE DONATES VEHICLE TO THE NEW APLAKU CIRCUIT

The Accra Diocese of The
Methodist Church Ghana has donated a brand new vehicle to the New Aplaku
Circuit. The Circuit is made up of fourteen (14) Societies and considered as a
Mission Area within the Diocese. It has therefore become necessary to support
the Circuit to meet its Pastoral and infrastructural needs which include
Manses, Chapels and means of transport for the Superintendent Minister.
Handing over the vehicle at a
brief ceremony held on March 31, 2021 at the premises of the Mt Olivet
Methodist Church, Dansoman, the Methodist Bishop of the Accra Diocese, The Rt
Rev Samuel Kofi Osabutey disclosed that the donation was aimed at equipping the
Circuit in its operations. Acquired at a cost of One Hundred and Forty Nine
Thousand, Four Hundred and Seven Ghana Cedis and Forty pesewas (GHS149, 407.40),
the Nissan Hardbody Pickup Vehicle is expected to facilitate easy movement to
the vastly spread societies within the Circuit. The package also included a
full comprehensive insurance cover for one year amounting to Seven Thousand,
Nine Hundred and Seventy Six Ghana Cedis and Seventy Seven pesewas (GHS 7,
976.77).
Receiving the donation on
behalf of the Circuit, the Superintendent Minister of The New Aplaku Circuit, The
Very Rev Emmanuel Evans Essien thanked the Diocese for the support and pledged
the Circuit's readiness to put it to good use.
Also present at the ceremony
was the Bishop-elect of the Accra Diocese, The Very Rev Emmanuel Borlabi Bortey,
who jointly dedicated the vehicle for use.
The New Aplaku Circuit was
created in 2019 as the twenty third Circuit in the Accra Diocese, following the
creation of the Northern Accra Diocese. The Accra Diocese now consists of
twenty four Circuits with the Osu Circuit as the latest.
