ACCRA DIOCESAN LAY MOVEMENT ELECTS NEW OFFICERS

The Accra Diocesan Lay Movement Council has elected new officers to steer the affairs of the Lay Movement in the Accra Diocese of The Methodist Church Ghana for the next three years.

 

The six member team was elected by delegates at the Council’s 21st Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the Bread of Life Methodist Chapel, Dansoman from June 25 - 26, 2022.

 

Led by Bro Joseph Eduam, who was elected the next Lay Chairman of the Accra Diocese during the 61st Annual Synod of the Diocese held at the Joseph Afotey Aku-Boye Memorial Methodist Chapel, Teshie North in April 2022, the newly elected officers comprises Sis Henrietta Angmor, Vice Chairman-elect; Bro Emmanuel Effah-Dennis, Secretary-elect; Bro Samuel Quartey Jnr, Assistant Secretary-elect; Bro Gabriel Edzakeh, Treasurer-elect; Bro Isaac Mensah, Organiser-elect and Sis Monica Owusu, Assistant Organiser-elect.

 

The newly elected officers will take over from the Sis Agatha Ennin Osei led administration from October 2022 when the incumbent officers’ tenure of office will expire.

 

Introducing the newly elected officers to congregants at the Bread of Life Methodist Chapel, Dansoman where the AGM was climaxed with a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, June 26, 2022, the Accra Diocesan Lay Chairman, Sis Agatha Ennin Osei appealed to members to support the incoming officers to be successful in their new roles.

 

The Superintendent Minister of the Dansoman South Circuit, the Very Rev Joshua A. Orgen prayed for the newly elected officers.

 

In line with the mandate of Lay Movement, the newly elected officers will be expected to mobilise lay persons to assist in the implementation of the Church’s decisions at the Diocesan level and to coordinate the work of the various organisations within the Church.
