ACCRA DIOCESAN AMB PRESENTS TROPHIES TO BISHOP

The Association of Methodist Brigades [AMB] of the Accra Diocese of The Methodist Church Ghana has presented trophies they recently won to the Methodist Bishop of Accra, the Rt Rev Emmanuel Borlabi Bortey.

The 8th Biennial J. Stanley Owusu Connexional Band Festival held in Obuasi from August 14-17, 2022, saw the Accra Diocesan Band emerge winners in various categories including Winner and Overall Winner in ‘Category A’, Outstanding Band Instructor and Outstanding Bandsman. The Festival involved Bands from various Dioceses within the Church.

The Accra Diocesan AMB Coordinator, Bro Lawrence Nii Dzaku Tackie, led a delegation from the Brigade to officially present the four trophies to the Bishop at a short ceremony held at the Accra Diocesan Secretariat, Dansoman on November 10, 2022.

The delegation also included the Assistant Secretary of the Band, Bro Nii Adjetey John Oakmond-Laryea, the immediate past Secretary, Bro Edward Baah, the Connexional Financial Secretary, Sis Naa Adjorkor Peprah and three other members of the Band.

Receiving the trophies, the Rt Rev Borlabi Bortey congratulated the Brigade for their feat and encouraged them to aim for more laurels.

With the Bishop was the Synod Secretary of the Accra Diocese, the Very Rev Mrs Doris Saah and the Accra Diocesan Youth Organiser, the Rev Edward Niikwei Okine.
