A three-day Wesleyan Revival Outreach programme has
opened in Accra, on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 with a call on all people to
seek salvation in Jesus Christ.
The programme which is on the theme, ‘Discipleship:
Living the Transformed Life in Jesus Christ’ is the first in the series of a
year-long revival outreach programme designed by the Accra Diocese of The
Methodist Church Ghana towards pursuing an agenda for revival and growth in all
the 24 Circuits within the Diocese.
Opening the programme at the Abeka Mantse Agbonaa
park in the Abeka Circuit of the Church, the Methodist Bishop of Accra, the Rt
Rev Emmanuel Borlabi Bortey, thanked God for the opportunity to minister the Word
of God to residents of the community.
He revealed that, the purpose of the programme was
to share the Good News regarding Christ Jesus’ offer of salvation to all
people, noting, “This Good News brings transformation to all who believe and reveals
God’s purpose for their lives”.
Ministering the Word at the outreach programme, the
Rt Rev Christopher Nyarko Andam, who is the Superintendent Minister of the
Dansoman Circuit and the immediate past Methodist Bishop of Kumasi Diocese appealed
to all people to accept Jesus Christ in their lives, arguing “He is God’s gift
to the world”.
Drawing from a passage in John 4 about the
Samaritan woman’s encounter with Jesus Christ, Rt Rev Andam proclaimed that “Jesus
is the living water” and those who encounter Him will be transformed into His
nature.
The three-day programme will be climaxed with a
Thanksgiving Service at the Redemption Methodist Chapel at Abeka in Accra on
Sunday, January 30, 2022.
